Don’t Draft These NFL Players In Your Fantasy Leagues

As the 2017 NFL season quickly approaches, millions of fans across the world are preparing for their fantasy football draft. Many of them are carefully reviewing a range of reports by experts and analysts to determine who their top selections should be. While there are a lot of great players available, there are some players that should be taken with caution  While these players could provide a good amount of upside in team scoring, there are other risks that need to be considered as well.

Le’Veon Bell

One of the most high-profile players entering the NFL fantasy football draft this year will be Le’Veon Bell. Over the past few years Bell has been one of the most dominant players in the National Football League. This has led to some astronomical statistical totals in fantasy points. Bell is currently the top running back in the national football league and is considered by many to be the number one overall pick in any fantasy league. However, he is currently a hold out from the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. This could end up lasting into the regular season, which could impact his value for fantasy owners. However, once he is on the field, he will likely be a top score.

Leonard Fournette

Another running back that fantasy owners should be cautious of is Leonard Fournette. Fournette is a rookie running back for the Jacksonville jaguars. He is considered by many to be one of the top running back prospects in the last five years. Considering the impact that rookie running backs can have in any NFL season, it is natural for people to want to consider him a high draft pick. While he will likely have a lot of opportunity this season, he is in an usual situation in which the Jaguars also have other quality running backs on the roster. In an effort to keep him fresh and healthy, there is a good chance that the rookie will only receive a share of the workload at the beginning of the year.

Sammy Watkins

For those that are looking for a talented wide receiver, Sammy Watkins would look like an obvious choice. Last season, Watkins looked like the talented wide receiver that had him taken in the first round of the NFL Draft a few years ago. However, a few weeks ago he was traded to the LA Rams. Along with being traded, Watkins is now the clear number one receiver in LA. While this would seem like an advantage for fantasy owners, it is not yet clear who will be throwing him the ball. The team will likely be led by Jared Goff, a former number one overall pick. While he has talent, Goff has not shows the ability to be a consistent strong quarterback in the league.

Jordan Reed

The tight end position is continuing to grow in important. Last year, Jordan Reed of the Redskins looked like one of the best in the league. However, Reed has had a few setbacks this offseason. This includes a toe injury that many believe could be more serious than the Skins are letting on.
