After Britney Spears announced that her Las Vegas show would end, she headed to the beach to enjoy the sun with her two sons, 12-year-old Sean and 11-year-old Jayden. Once she arrived in the warm setting, Britney immediately started sharing photos on Instagram and Twitter with captions: “Me and my boys enjoying the warm weather!”
The Louisiana native and Pop Icon made the Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood her home for the last four years. Britney’s show was one of the top performing acts on the Las Vegas Strip. Her unique performance was sought by not only her loyal fans but also by many celebrities.
In an Instagram post just moments before her last performance, Brittney simply said, “It’s bitter sweet.”
The successful performance by Britney Spears was launched in December 2013 when Planet Hollywood was looking for new acts for a much broader audience. The audiences that watched her performances were from all generations. Her Planet Hollywood show, “Britney: Piece of Me” was an instant success for fans all across the country. The residency was originally set to last for two years; however, due to sold-out shows it was extended for another two years which ended on December 31, 2017.
Brittney gave a stunning performance for the New Year’s Eve celebration which was televised on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. Her fans were privileged to one more performance that lasted for about 100 minutes with some of Britney’s classic songs like “Womanizer” and “Oop’s, I Did It Again”. She pranced around the stage in her typical seductive costumes with nonstop dancing and with prime vocals. In usual form, Britney also conducted many costume changes back stage only to come back to an explosive audience that wanted more.
Britney is now in the history books for Las Vegas residencies with legends like Frank Sinatra, Cher, Celine Dion and Elvis Presley. She has been a part of American pop culture ever since her departure from the Mickey Mouse Club with longtime friend Justin Timberlake. All grown up now, Britney has earned her way into the “Las Vegas Club of Legends” with one of the best performances Las Vegas audiences have seen in decades. Her performances were unfiltered, creative and full of dynamic energy which has catapulted Las Vegas residencies to the forefront and paved the way for new acts within the pop culture such as Lady Gaga, who recently announced that her Las Vegas residency will begin later in 2018.
