Jennifer graduated in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University in 2007. Shortly after, she joined the research institute Bimini Biological Field Station in the Bahamas. There, she researched sharks.
At the same time, she also worked as a contractor fisheries biologist for NOAA. The name stands for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Eventually, Jennifer transferred to NOAA labs in Pascagoula, MI. There, she switched fields, performing research on Bluefin tuna, plankton, and red snapper. She left the sharks for someone else.
Part of her job was to observe commercial fishing vessels running from Key West, Florida, to Brownsville, Texas.
During that period, she realized people were breaking the sea laws in sea waters. That inspired her to join law enforcement and became a Texas Game Warden in 2013.
Like every other warden, she had to go through a 30-week course at Texas Park and Wildlife’s Texas Game Warden Training Center located in Hamilton County, Texas.
