When you hear the name, Michael Jordan Hatch, you instantly think, wow, this is a nephew, a son, or someone else related to the great Chicago Bulls player. But that is not the case here. This might come as a surprise, but this celebrity child is the son of Boosie Badazz.

We do not know the full story, but he was probably inspired by the great NBA player and star. Who knows, MJ might have been Boosie’s idol in childhood.

With that in mind, let’s find out more about the rapper’s son.

Who Is His Father?

We have to start first with Boosie. Born Torrence Ivy Hatch in November 1982, he is known by his stage name. He was formerly known as Lil Boosie, and now he is Boosie Badazz. The American rapper began rapping in the 1990s as a member of the hip-hop collective Concentration Camp. In 2000, he eventually began his solo career by releasing his debut album Youngest of da Camp.

In 2009, he was sentenced to 4 years in prison on drug and gun charges. Then, in 2010, he was indicted on first-degree murder charges and sentenced to 10 years on multiple charges. Following five years in prison, Boosie was released in March 2014.

He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, yet, he grew up on West Garfield Street. His mother, Connie Hatch, worked as a school principal. His father, Torrence Hatch Sr., passed away in 1997. Boosie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child.

As for his music career, it was his cousin Young Dee that introduced him to Baton Rouge rapper C-Loc in the late 1990s. Young Bleed and C-Loc mentored Boosie and helped him join the group Concentration Camp. He joined them in 1998 as the youngest member. Others included Young Bleed, C-Loc, Happy Perez, Boo, J-Von, Lucky Knuckles, Max Minelli, and Lee Tyme.

Boosie debuted on C-Loc’s fifth album in 2000. Once Young Bleed departed the group, Lil Boosie was in a prime position amongst the group and served as one of the faces of the Camp. At 17 years of age, he recorded his debut album Youngest of da Camp. Happy Perez did most of the production, with C-Loc, Donkey, and Max Minelli appearing on the album.

Boosie joined Trill Entertainment in 2001 and released the album For My Thugz under his new alias Lil Boosie in 2002. In January 2005, he signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records.

In early 2006, Trill released Bad Ass Mixtape Vol.1, and soon his major label debut album Bad Azz. One of the biggest singles was Zoom, featuring Yung Joc. In 2007, still using the alias Lil Boosie, he released Bad Azz Mixtapes Vol. 2.

In 2009, he presented his debut label, Bad Azz Entertainment. Through his own label, Boosie Badazz released Thug Passion in 2009. When he got in prison in 2010, he announced he wanted to move forward with his career. In September 2010, he released the album Incarcerated.

After he was released from prison in 2014, he changed his name to Boosie Badazz and spoke about his prison sentence.

He said, “I have about 500 songs at the moment. I feel that I’m making the best music I’ve ever made. The more I go through in life the better my music gets and it’s been crazy the last three years. I keep my music heartfelt and stick to making real music. I wouldn’t even say it’s hip hop music. My music is ‘reality rap’. Hip hop music can make you dance and bob your head, but it can’t make you cry or touch your heart like reality rap”.

In September 2013, judges related to his case agreed to return his hard drives and computers. That equipment contained a lot of music he had recorded before going to jail.

In October 2014, he finally changed his name and spoke about it in an interview. The American rapper said, “I got tired of just people, grown men, like What up Lil Boosie? No, I am grown. It should be Mr! You know, I’m Boosie Badazz. I am a dad, man. Just take the shit off. That’s how I was feeling. Boosie Badazz is just like, more people say Badazz when they see me than Boosie”.

Quick Bio

Michael Jordan Hatch was born in the US, but his exact birthdate is not public. Boosie has not revealed the exact birth date of his son. Judging by the pictures available online, we can assume he is between 9 and 12 years of age.

He holds American nationality and is of a mixed ethnic community. His mother is Walnita Decuir Hatch, a famous model who performed different characters in small-scale series.

There is no info about his educational background.

Does He Have Siblings?

Michael Jordan Hatch’s father rose to prominence as a member of the hip-hop group Concentration Camp. Since then, he has gone on to have a hugely successful solo career.

He has eight biological children with different women. That would say that Michael Hatch has seven siblings. Those are Ivy Ray Hatch, Toriana Hatch, Lyric Beyonce Hatch, Iviona Hatch, Tarlaysia Hatch, Torrance Hatch Jr, and Laira Jean. Fun fact: they have their own Instagram page, called HatchKiddz.

Speaking about Michael’s father, he has children from six different women. He has said that he did not believe marriage was a good choice. The simple reason is he said he didn’t want to lose half of his fortune to his spouse if he committed adultery.

Yet, he also admitted he regretted becoming a young father with multiple children. He said in an interview in 2018, “I’d keep my same kids, just fewer baby mothers. I feel like I should’ve skeeted in the same woman and put them all in her instead of being so young, and you gotta watch out for that, you know having kids at a young age”.

Four of the six women he has had children with have been identified. One of them is Walnita Decuir Hatch, who is the mother to four of his children.

Relationship With His Father

Boosie has a great relationship with all of his children. In the same interview we cited before in 2018, he said his biggest job was to motivate his children.

Boosie said, “I just tell them to chase their dreams. First, they gotta knock out school. It is very important in my household, to my kids because my mama raised me for that to be important in my life. You know I motivate my kids, and I keep ‘em wanting more.”

Is He On Social Media?

Michael Jordan Hatch has a profile on Instagram of his own, but he is also part of the Hatch Kiddz. His own profile is closed and has fewer than 900 followers.

On the other hand, his father has an official profile for promotion with more than 255k followers.

As for the Hatch Kiddz fan page, it has more than 3,500 followers. The official bio says “children of Boosie Badazz”, and then their names Ivi, Ty, Tootie, Tori, Ivy Ray, MJ, Laila, Lyric Bey, and Rip Bleek.

Net Worth

We said before that MJ’s father is a highly successful music artist. How much does he earn? Per some estimates, he has a net worth of more than $800,000. Now, that might not look like much, but it is enough for his family to live a comfortable life.
