Reed Paul Jobs – What Is Steve Jobs’s Son Doing?

Reed Paul Jobs is a well-known celebrity child. He is the son of one of the most important people in the technology industry. His father Steve Jobs revolutionized the tech industry as an Apple Inc. co-founder. Steve’s biography says that in revolutionizing the industry, he somehow became distant from his family, mainly his children.

But Reed and the others still had a chance to hang out with their father. Reed Jobs is the only son of the late Apple co-founder and his wife Laurene Powell.

Reed also has three sisters, Lisa Brennan, Erin Siena, and Eve Jobs. Let’s talk about Reed now.

Who Was His Father?

We are sure most people have heard a word or two about Steve Jobs, the Apple co-founder. Yet, we have to check a bit about his biography before we talk about any of his children.

Born Steven Paul Jobs on February 24, 1995, he passed away on October 5, 2011. Steve was an American entrepreneur, business magnate, industrial designer, and investor. Many people recognize him as the Apple Inc. co-founder and CEO of the company. But he also founded Pixar, a company that is now a member of the Walt Disney Company. And Steve founded NeXT, another major company.

Born in San Francisco, California, to Joanne Carole Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, he was adopted by Clara Hagopian and Paul Reinhold Jobs.

His father was an Arab Muslim from Syria who moved to the United States for his education. At the University of Wisconsin, he met Joanne Schieble, an American Catholic of German and Swiss descent. Her parents were not happy she was with a Muslim, and they even threatened to disown her. That is why Jobs’ parents remained an unmarried couple.

Steve was adopted shortly after his birth. Speaking of his education, he attended Reed College in 1972 before withdrawing the same year. In 1974, he traveled through India seeking enlightenment before studying Zen Buddhism.

In 1976, Jobs and Steve Wozniak co-founded Apple with the intention to sell Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. They gained more popularity with the production of Apple II, one of the first highly successful mass-produced microcomputers.

In 1985, Jobs was forced out of the company after a power struggle with the board and its then-CEO, John Sculley. With a few Apple employees, Jobs founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in computers for higher education and business markets. He would also found Pixar, a new company that would go on to produce the first 3D computer-animated feature film, Toy Story.

In 1997, Jobs successfully returned to Apple as CEO after the company’s acquisition of NeXT. Back in the company he co-founded, Jobs was largely responsible for reviving Apple. At the time he got back there, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Nowadays, it is one of the most valuable companies in the world.

Everything began with the Think Different advertising campaign, continuing with Apple Store, App Store, iMac, iPad, iPhone, iTunes, and more products.

One might say that Jobs was the man behind the smartphone revolution. And that is largely true.
