Choosing the Perfect Vape for You

Let’s face it, the quit-smoking journey isn’t an easy one, and it becomes even more complicated if you’re turning to vapes. While vapes are an effective means of cutting down on your nicotine consumption, navigating all the different types can be a minefield. From terminology like vape coils to vaping slang like “squonk”, the whole process can be overwhelming and confusing. Disposables, cigalikes, pod systems, the options are seemingly endless…

Detailed below are just some of the things you can consider to enhance your understanding and make the process of choosing a little easier.

Stealth Vaping

First things first, you need to ask yourself whether you need a vaping solution that’s discreet. Some vapers love to create huge clouds of vapor, whereas others want something a little more understated. Vaping discreetly is otherwise known as “stealth vaping”, and this is often the preferred option for those who wish to vape in public. After all, drawing attention to yourself with a huge cloud of smoke might not be something you’re keen on doing. Pod systems and cigalikes are some of the best options for stealth vaping due to their small size and minimal vapor production.

Appearance

While the appearance of a vape may not seem like a big deal, it can be a more important factor than you may realise. For instance, you might want something that somewhat resembles a cigarette. On the other hand, you might prefer something that’s a bit bigger and boxy. The desired appearance of your vape really stems from personal preference, so you don’t need much guidance on this. You might want to start out with the smaller vapes, as these tend to be more affordable and work your way up if you’re looking for something bigger.

Vaping Style

If you’re new to vaping, you might not have yet established your vaping style. Despite this, there are two main types: mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung. Mouth-to-lung (MTL) means that you inhale and hold the vapor in your mouth before inhaling it into your lungs. Direct-to-lung (DTL) means exactly that; you inhale the vapor directly into your lungs. MTL devices tend to be less powerful, whereas DTL devices are more powerful. As a result, the way you vape affects the type of vape you choose. If you like to switch between the two, you might have a device in which you can switch out the coils for more or less powerful ones.

Ease of Use

This is an especially important consideration when you’re new to vaping. Understandably, you’re going to want something that’s easy and requires minimal set-up and maintenance. This is why disposable vapes are so popular for first-time vapers; they can be removed from the box, used, and thrown away. Despite this, they’re not very good for the environment, meaning vapers will often progress to pod vapes, as these are just as easy to use, but you only have to throw away and replace the pod at the end of use. As a result, a battery isn’t being placed into landfill time and time again.

Budget

Last but not least, you need to consider your budget. While disposable vapes have the cheapest initial cost, they are the most expensive vaping solution. This is because you’re forced to buy a new vape every time one disposable reaches the end of its life. With other vaping solutions, you just need to top up the e-liquid, which is much cheaper in the long run. Regardless of which solution you opt for, vaping is still the cheaper alternative to smoking, so you’re onto a winner whatever you do.
