You probably recognize that surname, right? If you guessed Christian is the famous son of Pete Sampras, one of the best tennis players in the history of the sport, you are right. Christian Charles Sampras is the eldest son of the former skilled tennis player, the best in the history of the US, and among the best in the world of the sport.

Unlike his father, he chose a different career path. Christian has a brother who plays tennis like his father, but he wanted a different career. Let’s find out more.

Who Is His Father?

First, we have to talk about his father, Petros Pete Sampras. Regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, he was born in August 1971. The American former World No.1 tennis player began his professional career in 1998 and finished it at the 2002 US Open. In the final that year, he defeated his longtime rival, Andre Agassi.

In total, Pete Sampras has won 14 Grand Slam titles. For a long time, that was the record for most Slams, before Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic each won more. All three of them have 20+ Slam titles.

Born Petros Sampras in Washington, he is the third child of Soterios Sammy and Georgia Sampras. His mother emigrated from Sparta, Greece, while his father was born in the United States to a Greek father, Costas Sampras.

At the age of 3, Pete discovered a tennis racket in the basement of his home and began hitting balls against the wall. In 1978, when he was 7, the family moved to Palos Verdes, California. The warmer climate there allowed Pete to play tennis for most of the year. His idol was the great Rod Layer, and at the age of 11, he met him and played tennis with the legend.

The family would then join the Jack Kramer Club, where Pete’s talent became apparent. As a young teenager, he trained and played with Robert Lansdorp, a professional tennis coach. He learned the forehand technique from Robert, the same he used throughout his professional career.

Sampras turned professional at the age of 16 in 1988. That year, he finished as World Number 97 after starting the year at No. 893. A couple of weeks into his career, he defeated two top 40 players at the Lipton International Players Championship in Miami.

In 1989, he improved his ranking to No. 81, losing to in the first round of the Australian Open. Yet, at the US Open, he defeated the defending champion Mats Wilander in the second round, before losing to Jay Berger in the fourth round.

In 1990, Sampras lost in the first round of Wimbledon and did not play in the French Open. In September of that year, he captured his first Grand Slam Title, winning the US Open. Along the way to his first title, he defeated Thomas Muster, Ivan Lendl, McEnroe, and Agassi. At the age of 19 years and 28 days, he became the US Open’s youngest-ever male singles champion.

It wasn’t until a few years later that he battled for the World No. 1 title. Andre Agassi was his biggest rival. In 1995, the two squared off at two Grand Slam finals, with Pete winning both of them. That allowed Sampras to reach the ATP World Number 1 ranking for the first time in his career.

In 2001, his Wimbledon win streak of 31 matches was ended by Roger Federer, who was 19 at the time. It was the only time these two legends played in an official professional match.

During his career, he won the Australian Open two times, Wimbledon seven times, and US Open five times. He never got further than the semi-finals at the French Open.

His legacy is as an all-court player who would often serve and volley. He had an accurate and powerful first serve, widely considered one of the best of all time.

Quick Bio

Now let’s talk about Pete’s eldest son, Christian. Born Christian by religion, he is of white ethnicity. Christian Sampras was born in November 2002, and he is now 20 years of age. His younger brother Ryan Sampras was born in July 2005.

His mother is Bridgette Wilson Sampras, an American former actress, singer, and model. Fun fact: his mother was a Miss Teen USA Winner.

There is not much information about his educational background and early life. We can assume he is in college as of May 2023, judging by his age.

But the young celebrity child has not disclosed information about his life. He is one of the more beautiful celebrity children in Hollywood.

And of course, he is a model. More on that below.

Modeling Career

Christian Charles Sampras is a fashion model with his own modeling website. You can check his modeling website here.

While he has a website, where you can find some of the pictures in his portfolio, there is not much information about his educational background. Or, when he became a model. Christian has not talked about his career much. But we assume his mother Bridgette Leann Wilson Sampras inspired him.

His Parents’ Love Story

Let’s talk a bit about his parents and how they met. We said Pete Sampras is a former tennis player, while his mother, is an American former actress, singer, mannequin, and model. You can say Christian inherited her modeling genes.

Their love story begins in a film when Bridgette Wilson was 27 years old. Fun fact: Wilson saw Kourtney Kardashian getting married, and jokingly said, “I’d love to fulfill her”.

Then, Pete’s friend obtained her phone number. That is how Pete and Bridgette began chatting with each other. She had no idea who he was or what he did before that. After 9 months of dating, he proposed to her with a Cartier platinum ring with an oval-shaped diamond on it.

They organized a rushed but pretty wedding ceremony because they were both busy with their career. Less than 100 people were invited to the wedding ceremony, most of them relatives and close friends. They exchanged vows in September 2000.

Does Christian Play Tennis?

Christian might have been born into a tennis family, but he followed in his mother’s footsteps. He might be the son of a professional tennis player, but he doesn’t play it.

Instead, he is a model like his mother. Christian hasn’t shown any interest in the game of tennis. On the other hand, his brother, Ryan Nikolaos Sampras followed in his father’s footsteps. Ryan is playing at a junior level, hoping to turn professional.

With his father’s encouragement and help, he might get there.

Is He On Social Media?

Christian is a model and a common thing among models is to use social media for growing their popularity. He has a profile on Instagram with more than 7,500 followers, but it is a private account. Yet, you can try to add him and hope he accepts your friend request.

His father Pete is not active on social media. Yes, you can find some fan accounts and pages of Pete on social media, but they are not verified profiles.

Net Worth

How much does Christian earn from his modeling career? Well, he has yet to disclose his net worth and earnings. We do not know much about his earnings.

Luckily, he has his father to support him emotionally and financially. Pete Sampras is one of the richer athletes, with a net worth of $150 million.

During his tennis career, Pete earned $43 million from tournament winnings, which would be $75 million in today’s money.

Now compare that to the Big 3, Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer. Novak leads the list with more than $164 million in career winnings, before Nadal with $134 million and Roger with $130 million.

You have to remember, Christian Sampras is still a young boy. He is only 20 years old, so we can expect his modeling career to take off and earn millions as well.
