Who Was Her Famous Father?
Born Shristi Nath Kapoor in December 1924, he was an Indian actor, film director, and producer. Raj has worked his entire life in Hindi cinema and many consider him one of the greatest and most influential actors and filmmakers in the history of Indian cinema. He passed away in 1988, and to this day, people refer to him as The Greatest Showman of India Cinema.
Some people also call him Charlie Chaplin of Indian Cinema. Raj was born in Peshawar, as the son of Prithviraj Kapoor. Over the course of his career, he won multiple accolades, including three National Film Awards and 11 Filmfare Awards in India. Raj was inspired by Charlie Chaplin and played characters based on The Tramp in movies.
His movies achieved success in Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Soviet bloc. In 1971, the government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to the arts.

Rishi said, “I was very young when my father had an affair with NargisJi, and so was not affected by it. I don’t remember feeling anything was amiss at home either. But I do remember moving into the Natraj Hotel on Marine Drive with my mom during the time Papa was involved with Vyjayanthimala”.
He continued, “My mother had decided to put her foot down this time. From the hotel, we shifted for two months into an apartment in Chitrakoot. My father had bought the apartment for Mom and us. He did all he could to woo her back, but my mother didn’t give in until he had ended that chapter of his life”.
It is worth noting that Vyjayanthimala had dismissed the affair, saying it was all a ploy for film promotion.
But Rishi was not having it. He wrote, “In an interview published a few years ago, Vyjayanthimala denied ever having an affair with my father. She claimed that he had manufactured the romance because of his hunger for publicity. I was livid. How could she be so blasé; and pretend the affair never happened? She had no right to distort facts just because he was no longer around to defend the truth”.
